Did you know that Jacksonville once had a system of underground tunnels connecting the downtown Banks?

This immense vault is located under the Atlantic National Bank Building.

Remember when this dinosaur used to be part of a Putt-Putt golf course?  Over the years,  Beach Boulevard grew and shopping took over.  This iconic landmark is the only survivor.  He now makes his home in front of a strip mall in the 10000 block of Beach Boulevard.

Foto Friday – Snyder Memorial Building

Snyder Memorial ChurchThe One Spark Event last week provided a rare opportunity to see the inside of the former Snyder Memorial Church, located in  downtown Jacksonville just across from Hemming Park.

Snyder Memorial Building Renovation is seeking funds to “Renovate, Re-purpose, and Renew” this beautiful, historic building.

As you can see, the interior is gorgeous with its hardwood floors and stained glass windows.  I hope there will be a way to bring this historic building and others downtown back to life!

Shhhh…..Kitty’s asleep

Photo taken at Hagan Ace Hardware on San Jose Boulevard.  Both Hagan Ace Hardware & Halls on San Jose Boulevard have allowed a few of our community cats to call their gardens “home”.  THANK YOU!

In addition to sleeping kitties, you will find lots of beautiful plants for your spring garden and knowledgeable answers to your lawn and garden questions at your Mandarin Ace Store..

Foto Friday – Ornament

Do you remember a Christmas ornament like this in your past?  This little plastic whirly-bird from the 50s still spins when hung over a tree light and brings back fond memories.
